On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the lobby between 97 and 100 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to starboard showing the open hatch leading down to the steam turbine engine room on 3 deck. Two change over switches and starter panels for the steam turbine engine room supply and exhaust fans are above the hatch. An emergency change over switch box, a fuse panel, a fire main and a fire hose basket are against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
