On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in an unidentified Seaslug missile working area on 2 deck and it has been given the photographer's identifying number 52. A semi-circular, possibly rotating, framework is in the centre of the space. A fire extinguisher and four spare cartridges, a telephone and a microphone are on the left.
