On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in an unidentified Seaslug missile working area on 2 deck (2J0) and the space has been given the photographer's identifying number 52. A raised framework with steps leading up to it, capable of holding one Seaslug missile, is in the centre and beyond it are an armoured flash door with a watertight door alongside.
