On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the U.H.F. room between 72 and 81 stations on the centreline of 3 deck looking forward and to port showing control circuit exchange units, CAW cabinets and two Admiralty pattern control drawer units against the port bulkhead. A transformer and a voice control circuits panel are against the forward bulkhead. The door to the inner room is on the right. In the centre of the room are a worktop with a telephone, an headset and an interphone switch box.
