The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the laundry between 178 and 188½ stations on 3 deck looking to port from 185 station showing a telephone, a marking machine and a marking machine cupboard against the forward bulkhead. Two rows of laundry collection lockers are in the centre and a clock reading 11.02 is fixed to the end of one of the rows. On the extreme left is a stowage bracket for an electric iron.
