On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the conversion machinery room between 64 and 72 stations on 4 deck looking aft and to port showing a main broadcast speaker, a gyro compass junction box, a fuse panel, a Muirhead & Co. electrical unit and two panels against the gyro compass bulkhead. Three rectifiers are against the port bulkhead and two metadynes are on the deck.
