The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the fuel working position between 78 and 84 stations on the starboard side of 5 deck showing two wheel controls for controlling the supply of furnace fuel oil from various tanks. An indicator warning panel for F.F.O. and service tanks levels, manufactured by William White (Switchgear) Ltd of London, is on the left. Against the bulkhead is a diagram of F.F.O. stripping renovating and sullage system in forward F.F.O. working space and next to it are a large panel holding 26 circular gauges, a F.F.O. transfer pump starter and a change over switch for the F.F.O. transfer pump.
