On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in a small unknown space, possibly on 03 deck, looking into a corner showing a radio unit manufactured by Murphy Radio Ltd and the plate on the side of the unit reads 'Type MT870A, serial number 121'. A telephone is fixed to the side of the radio. Behind the Murphy radio is a box labelled '4.5" R.P.C. control box', above it is the navigation and signalling lights junction box 5 and on the right is the 'Patt. 25062 switch fuse board "C" and one of the fuses is for the Admiral's poop lights. Against the left bulkhead is a control box panel mentioning 'transmitting station' and 'director'. A vertical format negative.
