A starboard side view of the Swedish cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) anchored in the River Amazon at the Ilha Jararaca near Belem, Brazil.
A starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the Swedish cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) anchored in the River Amazon at the Ilha Jararaca near Belem, Brazil. She is in all-white livery, her promenade deck has been plated in and she has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door under the bridge. Three of her boats have been launched and one is alongside the accommodation ladder. A local boat with a crew of four men and with a rattan shelter amidships is being paddled in the foreground. The settlement is variously recorded as Jaracaras and Jararacas and this negative bears the penned caption "Jararacas".
