A starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Swedish cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) anchored in the River Amazon at the Ilha Jararaca near Belem, Brazil. She is in all-white livery, her promenade deck has been plated in and she has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door under the bridge. Three of her boats have been launched. The photographer is on shore looking across a framework made from tree branches. The settlement is variously recorded as Jaracaras and Jararacas and this negative bears the penned caption "Jararacas". The negative is under exposed and slightly out of focus.
