On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the passageway at 37 station on 2 deck looking to port showing the boxed in emergency diesel generator, a transformer, a fuse panel, a fire main, a Nu-Swift fire extinguisher, a fire hose basket and a glass fronted display case containing a circular plate with the Plymouth coat of arms embossed on it. The motto is 'Turris fortissima est nomen Jehova'.
