On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the passageway at 62 station on 2 deck looking aft showing the door to the senior rate's W.C. on the right with a starter panel and a noticeboard next to it. A glazed cabinet is on the left. The watertight door to the Limbo mortar space is open and an automatic emergency lantern is next to it. Two seamen are standing by the quartermaster's position. A vertical format negative.
