On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the shipwright's workshop between 49 and 50 stations on the starboard side of 01 deck looking to port and slightly aft showing the workbench and a tin of Boss White jointing compound, a ball pein hammer, a sfcrewdriver an adjustable spanner and a pair of grips are on the bench. A wood storage locker, two job card boxes and an automatic emergency lantern are against the port bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
