On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the passageway between 44 and 46 stations on 2 deck looking aft and to starboard showing the galley servery. An hot water tank is in the foreground and a lowerator plate dispenser is in front of the serving counter. The servery roller shutter is open. Drums of chemical foam liquid, a starter panel and a fuse panel are in the lobby abaft the servery. Steel ramp plates are stowed in the right foreground.
