On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the maintenance office between 16½ and 19 stations on the port side of 3 deck looking forward showing a desk top against the ship's side. Above the desk and against the forward bulkhead are substantial panels containing maintenance job cards. Also above the desk is a thermotank air conditioning unit. An automatic emergency lantern is next to the door in the starboard bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
