Public standard measures of length mounted on a plaque on the wall next to the main gates of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich.
Installed 26-29 January 1859 (see archive reference RGO6/25/172) on the boundary wall to the left of the main courtyard gates; later moved to their current location near the Shepherd Gate Clock in 1960.
