Planetary models
Models of the planets Saturn (AST1051.3), Uranus (AST1051.2) and Neptune (AST1051.1) with their moons on three stands. The planets, moons and Saturn's rings are ivory and the stands and supporting arms of brass. Saturn is shown with 8 satellites, Uranus (which is shown with its poles parallel to its orbital plane) with 4 and Nepune with 1. The whole are contained in a fitted wooden box (AST1051.4).
The dating of these models is uncertain, but they must post-date William Lassell's discovery of the first of Neptune's satellites in 1848. There is no makers name, but the models are possibly English.
