The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the junior rates mess between 68 and 75 stations on 3 deck looking to port at the forward end showing, on the left, a letter rack, notice board, four kit lockers and a cleaning gear locker with an electric iron stored against it. A suitcase rack, five kit lockers, six boot or dirty clothes lockers, a Thermotank air conditioning unit, an electric fire and a fire extinguisher are against the forward bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
