The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the junior rates mess between 23 and 27 stations on the centreline of 3 deck looking aft and to port at the aft end showing the stairs up to 2 deck. Three chairs, two kit lockers, three other lockers, suitcase racks, boot or dirty clothes lockers and the 4.5 inch magazine flood valve are against the aft bulkhead. One of the suitcases belongs to R.W. Colby.
