The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the junior rates mess between 57 and 62½ stations on 3 deck looking aft from the port side showing four tables and five chairs in the centre of the space. A triple tier bunk unit is on the left. An electric fire, two bookshelves, a clock reading 10.42, an electric iron stowage and a refreshments cupboard with two mess fannies are against the aft bulkhead. Two kit lockers, a Thermotank air conditioning unit, a double tier bunk unit and two bookshelves are against the ship's side.
