The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the junior rates mess between 57 and 62½ stations on 3 deck looking to port from the starboard side at the forward end showing two mess lockers and a row of kit lockers with boots or dirty clothes lockers above them on the left. Kit lockers and a greatcoat cupboard with boots or dirty clothes lockers above them are on the right with an open hatch leading to 4 deck in the middle of them. A vertical format negative.
