On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the junior rates mess between 57 and 62½ stations on 3 deck looking forwardon the starboard side showing a fire main and two cable stowage brackets against the forward bulkhead. Kit lockers with boots or dirty clothes lockers above are on the left and a mirror is fixed to kit lockers on the right. A vertical format negative.
