On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the regulating office between 54½ and 56 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to starboard showing a bunk unit and a full height cupboard on the left. A desk with the name plaque MAA R G Bennett is on the right and a calender on the desk is showing Thursday March 6. Amongst the papers on the desk is a manual titled "Royal Naval Regulating School HMS Excellent. Regulating Staff Guide to Framing of Charges B.R.11 and Investigation of Offences QR Chapter 19". A telephone, a steel locker and two glass fronted cabinets are against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
