On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the passageway on 2 deck looking forward and to port from 47 station showing the door to the provision issue room partly obscured by a near vertical line on the left. In the alcove between 42¾ and 45¼ stations are drums of chemical foam liquid, fuse panels and a foam inlet pipe. The watertight door at 41 station is open. A vertical format negative.
