On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is on the starboard side of the flight deck at 60 station on 1 deck looking forward showing helicopter starter box and cable against the hangar bulkhead at 57 station. The hangar door is partly open and the open watertight door to the torpedo maintenance room is on the right. Inside the hangar is the refuelling pump and hose. A vertical format negative.
