On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the galley preparation space between 41 and 46 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to starboard and forward from 45 station showing a stainless steel worktop and sink unit with a hot water urn, tins, a plastic bucket and a boiling pan on it. The sink has a cover plate over it. Refuse crates are under the unit and a shelf is above it. between the unit and the ship's side is an Hobart potato peeler. A vertical format negative.
