On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the torpedo stowage compartment between 51½ and 54 stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking aft and to starboard showing racks for six torpedoes and a locker for fitted depth charge pistols and unfitted primers against the starboard bulkhead. Two torpedo moving trollies are on the deck. A fire extinguisher, a steel ramp and a stowage bracket for rope strops are against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
