On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the operations room between 31½ and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking forward and to port from just to starboard of the centreline at 34 station showing a callsigns board with a clock reading 11.20 above it fitted to the side of a cabinet containing three display power supply units. The door to the room is on the right and a fire extinguisher is near it. A vertical format negative.
