On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the operations room between 31½ and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking forward and to port from the centreline at 33 station showing the door to the room on the right. To the left of the door is an A/S plotting JYA5 radar selector assembly containing a marker cabinet switch, ops room display switch, plotting table 2 switch and plotting table 1 switch. Two interphone connection box units are on the left. A vertical format negative.
