On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the diving gear store between 46 and 47½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking to starboard showing the work bench fitted with a vice and with drawers below on the right. Above the bench are face masks with air hoses attached and a pigeon hole storage rack. Stored against the starboard bulkhead are two face masks and three diver's torches.
