On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the diving gear store between 46 and 47½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking to starboard showing the work bench fitted with a vice and with drawers below on the right. Above the bench are face masks with air hoses attached and a pigeon hole storage rack. Stored against the starboard bulkhead are two face masks and three diver's torches. Diving suits, air bottles and an axial flow van in the ventilation trunk are on the left. A vertical format negative.
