On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the combined radar office between 36½ and 41 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to starboard and forward showing a work bench with drawers and cupboards under and a litter bin on the end. Above the bench are a telephone, a type 993 radar aerial control unit, a radiac system indicating unit and a radiac system simulator connecting box. On the end of the bench is an empty test equipment cabinet. A vertical format negative.
