On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the canteen between 18½ and 21 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft and to port showing the Frigidaire ice cream refrigerator and the sink unit with glass fronted cupboards above them. The products on display include Wisdom toothbrushes, Colgate toothpaste, Silicones starch, Dabitoff cleaner, Heinz soups, Heinz baked beans, Heinz baked beans with pork sausages, Green Giant tomato juice, Trinidad pineapple and orange juices, Wilkinson Sword razor blades, Andrews liver salts, Vaseline hair tonic, Vosene shampoo, Loxene Extra shampoo, Whitbread pale ale, bottles of lemon squash, Fox's Glacier Mints, Manikin cigars, Daz soap powder and HMS Plymouth pendants.
