On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the canteen between 18½ and 21 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard showing the serving counter with the roller shutter closed. On the counter and the shelves alongside are a range of sweets including Fox's Glacier Fruits, Toffee Treets, Peanut Treets, Cadbury Whole Nut, Munchmallow, Fox's Bitter Lemon, Kit-Kat, Tunes and Fry's Turkish Delight. A sheet holding tobacco issue stamps dated Mar. 1969 is hanging from a bulldog clip.
