On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the bridge between 27½ and 31½ stations on 01 deck looking to port from the centreline showing telephones, an electric fire, loudspeakers, range and bearing repeaters, telephone control boxes, night signal lamp box, varius other boxes and panels, a signal desk with morse key, a CO² fire extinguisher and the door to the bridge wing.
