On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the bridge between 27½ and 31½ stations on 01 deck looking aft on the port side showing a desk with a drawer and cupboard under and a visual display unit and power unit alongside. An emergency first aid cabinet, a bookshelf, an inclinometer, junction boxes, an electric fire, a gun control check fire panel and a communications position equipped with microphones, three telephones and two control boxes.
