On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the torpedo stowage compartment between 51½ and 54 stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking aft and to port showing the door into the torpedo maintenance room in the aft bulkhead and next to it is a large locker containing torpedo pistols. Racks for the stowage of eight torpedoes and two stretchers are against the port bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
