On board the submarine Walrus (1959) alongside the fitting out berth at Scott's Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd shipyard at Greenock, on the Clyde. The photographer is in the aft torpedo compartment at 109 station on the starboard side of the main flat looking to port and forward showing a stainless steel sink with a sign reading "5. S.E.I.S. below" and lockers under it. S.E.I.S. stands for submarine escape immersion suit. A submerged signal ejector is next to the sink and two Hoover appliances (chest refrigerators?) are in the corner. A folding ladder leads up to the torpedo loading hatch and behind it is an oxygen generator Mk. 1 and a hanging cupboard.
