On board the submarine Walrus (1959) alongside the fitting out berth at Scott's Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd shipyard at Greenock, on the Clyde. The photographer is in the main generator room between 77 and 92 stations on the main flat looking to port and aft from 78 station on the centreline showing the engineer's desk on the left with an H.P. air compressor behind it. Against the port side of the boat are a block of six water service valves, a sea valve and a pump and flood orders indicator-receiver.
