The photographer is in the main generator room 'snake pit' between 77 and 81 stations below the main flat looking to port and slightly forward from 80 station showing a small electric motor on the deck. Four circular gauges are mounted on a board, one of them being marked "O.F. pump discharge", and to the right is a Vokes of Guildford filter unit next to a tank capacity gauge. Above the gauge is an handwheel marked "Lub.oil to port eng. (A3)". Under the deckhead is a fuse and switch panel with two switches marked off, low, med and high. A vertical format negative.
