On board the submarine Walrus (1959) alongside the fitting out berth at Scott's Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd shipyard at Greenock, on the Clyde. The photographer is in the senior rates mess between 42¼ and 49 stations on the starboard side of the main flat looking aft from 44 station showing a bed/settee with a hinged berth over and a valve chest next to it against the boat's side. A triple tier bunk unit with lockers are against the aft bulkhead and another triple tier bunk unit is on the port side. A drop leaf table and two locker seats are in the centre.
