The submarine Walrus (1959) in No. 6 dry dock at Devonport during her refit from 16 September 1968 to 14 November 1969. She was in the dock from 3 to 20 October 1969. The photographer is on the starboard side of the dock looking aft and to port from the top of the dock abreast the after escape hatch showing the stern. Scaffolding is under the starboard propeller shaft and the blades are wrapped in paper. Work on cleaning and repainting the starboard hydroplane has not yet been started.
