The submarine Walrus (1959) in No. 6 dry dock at Devonport during her refit from 16 September 1968 to 14 November 1969. She was in the dock from 3 to 20 October 1969. The photographer is standing at the top of the dock just to starboard of the bow of the boat looking aft and slightly to port. Scaffolding is alongside the bow and number one torpedo tube bow cap and outer shutter door are open. The forward hydroplanes are in the raised position.
