The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is in the port bridge wing between 43 and 47 stations on 01 deck looking aft and slightly to port from 43 station showing a main broadcast loudspeaker, a telephone handset, a loudhailer with microphone, the port bow light fuse panel and master switch, an azimuth repeater, a sight and a 10 inch signalling projector are against the bridge screen. In the background alongside the fitting out berth of the Charles Connell & Co Ltd shipyard at Scotstoun is the cargo liner Bendearg (1964) with the cargo liner Inventor (1964) outboard of her.
