The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is in the starboard bridge wing between 43 and 47 stations on 01 deck looking forward from 47 station showing a small locker and a ready use smoke marker locker against the bulkhead on the left. The watertight door to the enclosed bridge is open. Two main broadcast loudspeakers, a telephone handset, a loudhailer with microphone and an azimuth repeater are against the bridge screen.
