The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is in a boat on the river looking at the port side of the ship between 41 and 61 stations. Included in the photograph are the enclosed bridge, the MRS 3 director, the radar mast, the mainmast, the forward funnel and the 25 feet motor cutter in its davits. The liferafts, 20 inch signal projectors and the quadruple GWS 21 Seacat launcher have canvas covers. The dhow logo on the forefunnel indicates her proposed service to be in the Persian Gulf. A vertical format negative.
