The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is looking forward and to port from 21 station on the starboard side of 1 deck showing the twin headed capstan, capstan brakes, deck pipe, bonnet, anchor cables, anchor hawse pipes, towing hawse and jackstaff. A canvas dodger is fitted at the bow. The ship's bell is on the extreme left suspended from a pole fixed to the leading edge of the breakwater.
