The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is looking forward and to port from 37 station on the starboard side of 1 deck showing the forward 4.5 inch gun mounting and the breakwater. The back of the Mark V gun mounting is open. The ship's bell is suspended from a pole fixed to the leading edge of the breakwater. A roller fairlead is on the port side of the deck.
