The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is looking forward and to starboard from 72 station on the port side of 01 deck showing the Mark 10 limbo mortar mounting. The barrells are lowered to starboard, a canvas cover is over the muzzles and the door to the mortar projectile handing room is open. The ship's bell is mounted on the aft bulkhead of the GWS local maintenance annexe in the background.
