The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is on the starboard side of the quarterdeck at 76 station looking aft and to port showing the aft Mark V 4.5 inch gun between 77 and 82 stations on 1 deck. The back of the mounting is open. On the opposite side of the river alongside the fitting out berth of Charles Connell & Co Ltd is the cargo liner Bendearg (1964) with the cargo liner Inventor (1964) outboard of her.
