The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is in the crew's galley and preapration space between 45 and 50 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to port and slightly forward from 48½ station on the starboard side showing the servery area. Against the aft bulkhead are a roasting oven, an hot cupboard, an automatic emergency lantern and a control panel. On the right are a grill, shallow fryer, deep fryer and hot cupboard by William Green. In the centre is a stainless steel dresser with shelves under. The bain marie and servery roller shutter are on the port side.
